Event: Hollister Ranch June 8th, 2013

It is finally that time again, summer is right around the corner and A Walk On Water is proud to announce our first official event of 2013! We will be returning to where it all started, Hollister Ranch, for the first of four events there this year.

Signups are extremely limited, so be sure to sign up here ASAP. We will send out a confirmation email leading up to the event if your child will be participating. If you are unable to make it after signing up, please be sure to let us know ASAP so that we can fill the spot.

For those looking to make it an overnight or weekend adventure, we are in talks with the local hotel to offer discounted room rates - we’ll update this as soon as it’s finalized.

We at AWOW are all so excited for this event and the coming year, we hope you will all be able to join the AWOW family on this adventure!

Press Release: James Perse supports Moments by Steven Lippman Art Show benefitting local charity A Walk On Water

World renowned fashion designer James Perse has opened his heart to his homeland of Los Angeles by teaming up with a local charity for special needs children: A Walk On Water (awalkonwater.com). Perse’s childhood consisted of spending ample time on the beaches of southern California, so his connection to AWOW is understandable. AWOW provides water therapy to children with special needs through guided surf instruction. Perse was turned onto AWOW through fellow surfer and artist Steven Lippman, who is on the Board of Directors for AWOW. Lippman is one of the head surf instructors for AWOW and when he’s not seen on the surf supporting children, he can be found with a camera in hand, capturing some unbelievable shots.

On Thursday, March 21, from 6-10pm, Lippman is debuting a show of some his nationally acclaimed work at 5th and Sunset Studios (5thandsunsetla.com). Perse (jamesperse.com) has teamed with the AWOW charity and nonprofit organization by graciously designing and manufacturing a one-off shirt reminiscent of his early designs; a soft, minimalist tee that will only be available at the event (in men’s and women’s sizes). GoPro (gopro.com) has also donated two complete Hero3 camera packages to be raffled off. All proceeds from the sales of the t-shirts and raffle tickets go directly to AWOW, earmarked for funding their next surf therapy event in the LA area.

Update: Seal Beach Surfing Championships

The time is finally here! The Seal Beach Surfing Championships are officially a GO for this coming weekend, March 2-3. All proceeds from the event are being graciously donated to A Walk On Water, so please come out and show your support!

We are being given a special time slot on Sunday afternoon to show everyone what AWOW is all about. If you would like to be involved, please sign your child up through our form here.

This is a very important event for us as we have the opportunity to expose AWOW to a lot of new people. Please spread the word and let’s try to have a big turnout from the AWOW family!
